PHILADELPHIA\u00a0(CBS) \u2014<\/em> \u00a0Two months ago, Warrington residents Joey and Kristen Masciantonio say they experienced a miracle when Pope Francis spontaneously kissed their one-year-old daughter, Gianna, on the head.<\/p>\n

Now, two months later, they believe it helped lead to recent scans that show barely any sign of Gianna\u2019s tumor.<\/p>\n

Gianna has a rare, inoperable brain tumor.<\/p>\n

Her blood cells attacked her brain stem weeks after birth and surgery is not an option.<\/p>\n

The Masciantonio clan showed up for the papal parade in front of Independence Hall, expecting maybe a quick glance. They got much more, thanks to a friend from the FBI.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think this is all from God. I believe the Pope is a messenger from God,\u201d her father Joey Masciantonio told Eyewitness News.<\/p>\n

The man who held Gianna for the Pope is Domenico Giani. \u00a0He is the Pope\u2019s bodyguard.<\/p>\n

Dominic is the name of Gianna\u2019s older brother, and the Masciantonio family believes the similar names is just another sign of divine intervention. They say the proof is in the scans.<\/p>\n

The August scan shows the tumor.<\/p>\n

In the November\u00a0scan, it\u2019s hard to find proof of a tumor.<\/p>\n

\u201cShe\u2019s getting better and stronger. She\u2019s blowing kisses. She\u2019s starting to point at things,\u201d Kristen Masciantonio told Eyewitness News.<\/p>\n

Gianna was named for St. Gianna, a modern-day saint who died in 1962. Saint Gianna\u2019s daughter was in Philadelphia and met little Gianna during the papal weekend. Her parents insist Gianna\u2019s future is a bright one, and they can\u2019t wait to sit down to show her and tell her what a difference a kiss can make.<\/p>\n

\u201cLast year was about living in honor of her. Now we\u2019re going to get to live with her,\u201d Joey Masciantonio said.<\/p>\n
