Virgin appeared to Catherine Labour\u00e9 in 1830<\/a> (globe under the feet, rays of light emanating from the hands turned downwards), the former Holy Office has confirmed a notification signed in 1974 which \u201cconsiders that it is not opportune to contribute to the dissemination of the veneration of Mary as\u201c Lady of All Peoples.’\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\nOn several occasions, in 1957, 1972 and 1974, the CDF confirmed the position of the Dutch bishop. However, on May 31, 1996, one of his successors, Bishop Hendrik Bomers, with permission from the CDF, subsequently authorized the public veneration of the same virgin, now that the question of the supernatural character of the apparitions themselves did not was not resolved. He reiterated his decision in a letter dated December 3, 1997.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\nOn May 31, 2002, Bishop Jozef Marianus Punt, the next bishop, declared that the apparitions were of supernatural origin. Since then, the question remains as to whether Bishop Punt had the power to overrule his predecessor\u2019s decision, given that the latter\u2019s decision had been confirmed by the CDF. In an unpublished letter from July 2005, the CDF requested that the prayer associated with the apparition be changed, replacing the words \u201cwho once was Mary\u201d with \u201cthe Blessed Virgin Mary\u201d. The supporters of the alleged apparitions deduced that the CDF had tacitly accepted Bishop Punt\u2019s approval.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
