Eucharistic Miracle of Chirattakonam
This Eucharistic Miracle took place recently, on May 5, 2001 at
Trivandrum. In the consecrated Host, the face of a man resembling
Christ crowned with thorns appeared. Father Johnson Karoor, pastor of
the church where the Miracle occurred, recounts in his report: “On April
28, 2001, in the parish church of St. Mary at Chirattakonam, we began,
as we do each year, our Novena to St. Jude Thaddeus. At 8:49 in the
morning, I exposed the Blessed Sacrament in the monstrance and began
a time for public adoration. After a few minutes, I saw three marks on
the Holy Eucharist. At that point, I stopped praying and began to look at
the monstrance, inviting the faithful also to wonder at the three marks. I
then asked the faithful to remain praying and then put the monstrance
back inside the tabernacle. On April 30, I celebrated Holy Mass and the
day after I departed for Trivandrum. After returning, on May 5, 2001, I
opened the church for the regular Masses, I prepared myself and I went
to open the tabernacle to see what had happened to the Eucharistic host
of the monstrance, and I at once noticed in it a figure resembling a
human face. I was very moved and asked the faithful to kneel down and
begin to pray. I thought that it was only I who had seen the face, and
then I asked the altar boy what he observed in the monstrance. He
answered, ‘I see the figure of a man.’ I noticed that the rest of the faithful also gazed intently at
the monstrance. We began the Adoration and as the minutes passed by, the figure of the man
became more clearly defined. I did not have the courage to say anything, and I began to cry.
During the time of adoration, we had the custom of reading a passage from Sacred Scripture.
The passage which fell upon me that day was the one from Chapter 20 of St. John’s Gospel,
which recounts the episode when the Risen Jesus appeared to St. Thomas and asked him to look
upon His wounds. I managed to say only a few words in my homily, and as I had to celebrate
Holy Mass at the neighboring parish of Kokkodu, I arranged for a photographer to come at once
to take a picture of the Holy Eucharist with the human face inside it. The photographs were
developed in two hours, and in every photo, the face appeared ever more clear.”
His Blessedness Cyril Mar Baselice, Archbishop of Trivandrum, wrote regarding this Miracle:
“[…] For us believers, what we saw is something we have always believed […] If Our Lord is
speaking to us by giving us this sign, this most surely requires a response on our part.” The
monstrance containing the Miraculous Host is still preserved in the church.

PARAGUAY. The Pope Francisco visit to Paraguay was a historic event. He arrived on Friday, July 10 – and ended his agenda in the country on the afternoon of sunday, July 12, 2015. This is the second visit of a Pope to Paraguay in the History of the country.

The Bishop of Rome attended a dozen events in public and private visits. He met civil and religious authorities (the Catholic Church), the diplomatic corps, representatives of different sectors of civil society, young people and residents of the poorer areas of the capital (city of Asuncion).

The PrimiciasYa newspaper (from Argentina) talked the phenomenon with parapsychologist Alexander Morgan who commented: It is the light of the Holy Spirit descending upon the Pope. It is a dove on his head. He is protected by the Lord …

BREAKING: Governor Signs Law BANNING Words ‘Husband’ and ‘Wife’ Because They Offend Gays. “husband” and “wife” have now been classified as “anti-gay.”My Title.

California Governor Jerry Brown has signed a bill into law that has removed the words “husband” and “wife” from the state’s marriage laws.

Instead, they have been replaced with the word “spouse.” Brown reportedly did this because the words “husband” and “wife” have now been classified as “anti-gay.”

This bill is known as SB1306, and it is set to take effect on January 1.

“I am pleased Gov. Brown has recognized the importance of this bill, which makes it explicitly clear in state law that every loving couple has the right to marry in California,” said state Sen. Mark Leno, who wrote the bill making the terminology change. “This legislation removes outdated and biased language from state codes and recognizes all married spouses equally, regardless of their gender.”

New Bible Translation “Queen James Bible” Eliminates “Homosexuality As Sin” Because It Insults Gays

Don’t like the Bible and its TRUTH? Well, you could just create your own version. At least that’s what a homosexual group has done.

The world’s first “gay friendly” Bible [book] has been published as the “Queen James Bible.”

Multiple verses throughout the book have been rewritten to please the LGBTQ community and gay churches.

The website promoting the book says, “The Queen James Bible resolves any homophobic interpretations of the Bible…We wanted to make a book filled with the word of God that nobody could use to incorrectly condemn God’s LGBT children, and we succeeded.”

What they have succeeded in doing is misrepresenting the word of God.

Thousands of birds abandon eggs, nests on Florida island

In this Friday, June 19, 2015 photo, In this Friday, June 19, 2015 photo, an Osprey returns to its nest in Seahorse Key, off Florida’s Gulf Coast. In May, Seahorse Key fell eerily quiet, as thousands of birds suddenly disappeared, and biologists are trying to find the reason why. U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service biologist Vic Doig said what was once the largest bird colony on the state’s Gulf Coast is now a “dead zone.” (AP Photo/John Raoux)

SEAHORSE KEY, Fla. (AP) — The din created by thousands of nesting birds is usually the first thing you notice about Seahorse Key, a 150-acre mangrove-covered dune off Florida’s Gulf Coast.

But in May, the key fell eerily quiet all at once.

Thousands of little blue herons, roseate spoonbills, snowy egrets, pelicans and other chattering birds were gone. Nests sat empty in trees; eggs broken and scattered on the muddy ground.

“It’s a dead zone now,” said Vic Doig, a U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service biologist. “This is where the largest bird colony on the Gulf Coast of Florida used to be.”

For decades, Seahorse Key has been a protected way station for myriad bird species. It’s part of the Cedar Keys National Wildlife Refuge, which was established in 1929 as a sanctuary for birds devastated by decades of hunting for their colorful plumage. Accessible only by boat, today it’s a rare island off Florida not dominated by human activity and development.

When the birds come to nest, so too do biologists and naturalists who study the different colonies. But this year, the birds’ exit has the state’s avian biologists scrambling for answers.

“It’s not uncommon for birds to abandon nests,” said Peter Frederick, a University of Florida wildlife biologist who has studied Florida’s birds for nearly 30 years. “But, in this case, what’s puzzling is that all of the species did it all at once.”

Doig said some of the Seahorse birds seem to have moved to a nearby island, but they’re just a fraction of the tens of thousands of birds that would normally be nesting on the key right now.

To find answers, service biologists have been acting on the few clues they have.

First, they tested left-behind bird carcasses for disease or contaminants. Those tests came back negative.

Next, they researched possible new predators. Did raccoons swim over from another island? Perhaps some great horned owls flew out at night and started feasting?

Traps caught a few raccoons, which is common, but not enough to have created a wholesale abandonment. There were no telltale signs of owls.

Finally, Doig said, recent years have seen an increase in night flights over the area by surveillance planes and helicopters used to combat drug runners. Although the planes’ noise could be disruptive, Doig admits it’s a longshot.

The abandonment concerns biologists because it could have a ripple effect: Many bird species here return year after year to the same nesting sites. The disruption provokes anxiety that this important island refuge could somehow be lost.

“Any rookery that’s persisted for decades as one of the largest colonies is incredibly important,” said Janell Brush, an avian researcher with the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission. “It’s quite a large colony. There had to be some intense event that would drive all these birds away.”

Biologist also don’t know how the disappearance will affect the island’s other animals, some of which rely on the birds to survive. Cottonmouth snakes eat bird predators like rodents, and in turn the birds drop lots of fish and other nutrients from the trees to feed the snakes.

In the meantime, tour operators that once spent hours taking naturalists and bird watchers to the island are making other plans.

Mike O’Dell runs tours out of the little marina in nearby Cedar Key. He said on a Tuesday in May he led a group out to view thousands of birds crowding the shores of the key. On Wednesday, there was nothing.

“It’s just that drastic,” O’Dell said. “There were none. It’s like a different world.”
